More than two hundred participants participated in the deliberations and voting, joining both in person. and in a virtually hybrid event held in conjunction with the Linguistics Society of America's annual meeting.

    Yesterday, the Dialect Society of America voted for its Word of the Year (WOTY). It selected the suffix – ussy, derived from pussy (as Bussy = boy pussy).
